Ruining the game be it taking too long or getting decisions badly wrong/or highly questionable at best like Coventry have been robbed of a famous last minute goal.
Hope they can still win on Penalties and go through with justice being done anyway.......
A fucking outrageous decision by faceless cunts in a truck somewhere in a dogging car park, no doubt.

If (IF) the offside decisions could be automated and quick I think it’s workable.
But I also think players are now skilled in ‘winning’ penalties via VAR.
Without VAR there’d be no penalty for us in the conference league final.

The offside decisions are the main ones that are killing the game ffs
It's the one thing that it does get right in the end, however, it ruins THAT moment in football, the adrenaline rush after a goal. I'd rather some of those borderline decisions be wrong and bring back the best thing about the game, that moment in time where you celebrate a goal.
I was very vocal on here about how it would ruin the game. Anyone who actually thought about it properly could surely see what was going to happen, why on earth you would change the best game ever in such a massive way is beyond me.

Anyone else find it funny that the premier league have said they’re against scrapping it
I thought they was supposed to be a democracy wanting what’s best for the league itself
If the clubs vote to scrap it then they should be with them 100% of the way
But they’ve shown their true colours here and made it blatantly obvious that they love the fact var 9 times out of 10 goes in favour of the big clubs
Pure corruption if you ask me

Well played, Wolves and hopefully at least 13 other Clubs will rightly agree with them and fuck it off altogether before the start of the new season. Huge waste of time, money and anguish having to keep putting up with the shocking system that was ironically meant to improve the Game, instead achieved the opposite.

In the English league it has made the referees even more incompetent. Hard to believe that could have been possible
Like many I’d happy to see it go maybe keeping 30sec checks for offsides where offside means daylight ahead of the last defender
The loss of the spontaneity in celebrating goals has devastated the game

I’d keep it for offside and fuck it off for everything else. Offside isn’t really open to interpretation. It’s black and white so it’s helpful for that. It’s only gone wrong once due to human error.
Be interesting to see how the vote might go. My instinct was the top clubs may want to keep it, but they probably on balance get the decisions more without it. I wonder if some of the more lowly teams may vote for keeping it.

Premier League clubs will vote on whether to scrap video assistant referees (VAR) from next season at their annual general meeting next month.
Wolves have formally submitted a resolution to the Premier League which will trigger a vote when the 20 member clubs meet in Harrogate on 6 June.
The club said VAR was introduced "in good faith" but has led to "numerous unintended negative consequences that are damaging the relationship between fans and football".
VAR was introduced in 2019 to help support on-field officials with key match decisions, but there have been a number of controversial incidents involving the technology this season.
"The price we are paying for a small increase in accuracy is at odds with the spirit of our game," read a Wolves statement.
The Premier League said it "acknowledged the concerns" about VAR but "fully supports" technology and will continue to work with referees' body PGMOL to make improvements.
Any rule changes need a two-thirds majority - 14 of of the 20 clubs - to vote in favour.
Premier League clubs have already voted for semi-automated offside technology to be introduced for the 2024-25 season.
VAR criticised after controversies
A number of Premier League managers have been critical of VAR and of refereeing standards this season, including Wolves boss Gary O'Neil.
O'Neil was given a one-match touchline ban in April for his conduct near the referee's room after a game against West Ham, which saw Wolves have a late equaliser disallowed following a VAR check.
Wolves chairman Jeff Shi also questioned the role of VAR after the West Ham game and said the club would be higher in the table "if it wasn't for a number of incorrect or contentious decisions".
One of the most high-profile VAR mistakes to date is Luis Diaz's goal that was incorrectly disallowed for offside for Liverpool at Tottenham in October.
The Premier League said the incident highlighted "systemic weaknesses in the VAR process" and that "key learnings and immediate actions" were taken.
In February the league's chief football officer Tony Scholes said VAR had increased the number of correct decisions but that those decisions were taking too long and offered a poor in-stadium experience.
In a bid to improve transparency, referee's chief Howard Webb regularly discusses notable recent incidents involving VAR, including audio between on-field officials and the VAR team, on the TV programme Match Officials Mic’d Up live.
Last month, Sweden became the only elite league in Uefa's top 30 to reject VAR.
Analysis - PL says scrapping VAR not the way forward

It is understood the Premier League fundamentally does not believe this is the right way forward.
While it is obvious Wolves - and others - have had frustrations with the system this season, the league believes removing VAR would increase the number of incorrect decisions and potentially leave the on-field officials open to even greater criticism than they currently receive.
The Premier League’s figures show the number of correct decisions in matches has increased from 82% before VAR was introduced to 96% currently. With semi-automated offside technology due to be introduced early next season, it is felt that figure will increase even further.
PGMOL head of refereeing Webb is pushing for greater in-game communication between VAR and fans and is pushing the international rule-making body IFAB for greater changes.
The Premier League also believes removing VAR would have a negative impact on its global reputation.
This is likely to cut little ice with Wolves, who feel they have been on the wrong end of a series of bad decisions, starting on the opening weekend when Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana went unpunished for punching striker Sasa Kalajdzic in the face in the final minute at Old Trafford as he tried to clear the ball.
Many fans do not like the amount of time taken to reach marginal offside decisions, even if the outcome ultimately proved to be the correct one.

Having been pro VAR before it came in, I’d happily see it scrapped now. It’s good when it works, but it’s too inconsistent and takes too long. It’s ruined celebrating goals, and spoils the momentum of the match.

I've started watching some lower league football where var isn't being used. I'm finding myself enjoying that more. Although I suppose if it sticks around var might make it down to those games as well.

Scrap it, its a major part of ruining football
Unless a computer applies the same logic and calculations to every single decision it won't work
the problem is the refs that need the help are the same ones using it. Its still open to way too much human interpretation and error
If it does persist, then refs should go into a league table. A points system is created for each game, points deducted if they get a decision wrong.........same for if the PGMOL have to apoligise after etc
increase the wages and the bottom 3 each season go down to the championship, top 3 come up for a season. Only way to increase performance levels than the shit we are seeing each week.
There simply isn't a case for me that VAR has improved football for anyone, both inside the ground or at home

Utterly pointless. The ref watches the replay and points to the spot - we all know it's a penalty. Him on the PA saying 'It's a penalty, there was a foul' adds nothing.
Wasn't this tried elsewhere at some point?

Unless people in the stadium hear the conversation between VAR & ref its just going to be the ref saying 'Defender didnt get the ball, foul tackle ... Penalty'.
I'd be more interested in refs being obliged to do a post match interview like managers are forced to do
